Festivals & Events

Bring a Mobile Nature Center to Your Event

Looking for an engaging activity that gives guests more than a quick stop at a traditional vendor booth?

Nature on the Geaux brings an interactive mobile nature center directly to festivals, family days, school events, libraries, museums, community celebrations, and other special events.

Guests can stop by throughout the event to meet live animal ambassadors, examine fascinating natural objects, participate in hands-on activities, ask questions, and discover more about wildlife and the world around them.

Because this is a flexible, drop-in experience, visitors can explore for a few minutes or stay a little longer. It works especially well for events where guests are moving between multiple activities.

The Mobile Nature Center Experience

Each Mobile Nature Center is customized around your audience, event theme, available space, and educational goals.

Your experience may include:

  • Live animal ambassadors

  • Skulls, shells, sheds, and other animal biofacts

  • Hands-on environmental education activities

  • Nature investigations and observation challenges

  • Sensory learning opportunities

  • Educational displays and natural history specimens

  • Informal conversations with an experienced environmental educator

  • Rotating themes connected to wildlife, habitats, adaptations, wetlands, conservation, and more

The specific animals, materials, and activities included will depend on the event location, weather, audience, setup, and animal welfare needs.

Event Requirements

To provide the best experience for both guests and our animal ambassadors, please note the following:

  • A designated space of 10x10 is required for the Mobile Nature Center.

  • If live animals are included, an indoor or appropriately shaded location may be required depending on weather conditions.

  • We bring our own tables and tent.

  • When temperatures are above 90°F or below 65°F, live animals may not be able to participate. In these situations, Nature on the Geaux will substitute additional biofacts, hands-on activities, and environmental education experiences to ensure guests still enjoy an engaging Mobile Nature Center.

Complimentary Community Nature Stations

Nature on the Geaux occasionally participates in qualifying public environmental education events through a complimentary Community Nature Station.

These opportunities are limited and are generally reserved for public nature, science, conservation, or environmental events hosted by museums, parks, environmental nonprofits, conservation organizations, or government agencies.

School events, private events, ticketed events, festivals, fundraisers, and general community celebrations are typically booked through the paid Mobile Nature Center service.
