In-Home Hands-On Science Series with Live Animals

Homeschool Nature Labs is an engaging, in-person science series designed especially for homeschool families who want meaningful, hands-on learning in a small-group setting.

This 8-week series brings science to life through live animal encounters, biofacts, interactive STEM challenges, and outdoor exploration, all taught from my home in Slidell.

Perfect for learners ages 5–11 (flexible), these classes encourage curiosity, creativity, and real-world scientific thinking.

📍 Location & Schedule

  • Location: Instructor’s home in Slidell, LA

  • Day: Tuesdays

  • Start Date: January 6

  • Time: 10:00 AM – 11:30 AM

  • Length: 1.5 hours per class

  • Series Length: 8 classes

💰 Pricing (for the full 8-class series)

  • $120 – first child

  • $80 – each sibling

All supplies, materials, live animal experiences, and activities are included.

  • Half-Day (3 hours) or Full-Day (6 hours) options

  • Campers rotate through smaller groups

  • Multiple animal encounters throughout the day

  • All activities facilitated by Nature on the Geaux

No Travel Fee: St. Tammany, Orleans, Upper Jefferson, Tangipahoa, St. Bernard; and MS counties: Harrison, Pearl River, Hancock.

$25 travel fee for the following parishes/counties: Upper Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, Livingston, Washington, Stone, Lamar, & Jackson County

$30 travel fee for: Ascension, East Baton Rouge parishes

Travel fees are paid in addition to program fees and are to offset additional vehicle costs.

Completely free to the school, supported by optional photo purchases

📸 Optional $10 Printed Photo
Families may choose to purchase a 4x6 printed photo of their child with one of our animal ambassadors.
This fun keepsake helps make the program free for all students—participation is always optional.

⚠️ Program Details
• Available for assembly-style programs only (not valid for half- or full-day bookings)
• Recommended for ages 5 and up
• All students participate in the animal program, regardless of photo purchase
• Photos are printed on-site or mailed within one week

📋 Schools Provide:
✔ Signed permission slips for all students (photo and non-photo participants)
✔ One 6-foot table
✔ An indoor photo area with access to an electrical outlet
