STEM in the Wild: Homeschool Nature Labs

Hands-on science adventures with live animals and nature!

Discover nature up close with live animal encounters, interactive STEM challenges, and outdoor exploration designed especially for homeschool families! This 8-week series is perfect for ages 5–11 (flexible) and makes science come alive through curiosity and creativity. This class series — complete with live animals, biofacts, and supplies — come directly to your homeschool group or co-op.

Traveling Class Pricing per class:

  • $15 first child | $10 siblings (must have 10 children signed up per class)

  • Classes are 1 hour long.

  • Travel fee: $0 within the parishes of St. Tammany, Orleans, Upper Jefferson, Tangipahoa, St. Bernard; and MS counties: Harrison, Pearl River. If outside of these areas please message me for a quote.

Spring 2026 Class Topic

Animal Detectives: Investigate the Wild World of Zoology

Week 1 – What Is Zoology?
Meet the animals, learn what zoologists do, practice observation skills, and create your Zoologist ID badge.

Week 2 – Habitats Around the World
Match animals to deserts, rainforests, oceans, wetlands, and more. Build a mini habitat diorama to take home.

Week 3 – Adaptations: Survival Superpowers
Explore armor, camouflage, sticky toes, and spines. Design a “super-animal” trading card with your own adaptations.

Week 4 – Diet Detectives
Herbivore, carnivore, or omnivore? Use teeth and food clues to solve mysteries. Optional owl-pellet mini-lab when appropriate.

Week 5 – Animal Communication
Discover sound, scent, and body language. Play communication charades and make a coder wheel.

Week 6 – Conservation Heroes
Meet endangered species and create a “Save-the-Species” mini-poster with kid-friendly actions to help.

Week 7 – Animal Families & Life Cycles
From egg to adult—compare life cycles and make a spinner that shows each stage.

Week 8 – Be a Zoologist: Observation Challenge
Use real field-journal techniques to observe an ambassador, record data, and celebrate with a mini-graduation.
