Programs to choose from
Curriculum Specific: We can do programs on the food chain, adaptations, classification, ecosystems, life cycles, conservation, endangered species, caring for exotics, or native vs. invasive species. If you don’t see your topic listed, just ask. I’ve been doing this for a while and probably have a lesson plan for what you are looking for!
Amazing Axolotls - Are your learners wild about axolotls? Here is their chance to meet a couple of axolotl animal ambassadors that are in my collection! We will discuss all the fun facts about them and their wild counterparts, the perils they face, how to be a keeper to an axolotl if they want to have one as a pet one day, and why scientists are so interested in them. We will also make an axolotl necklace with a cute charm for your learners to take home! Axolotls are not touchable & must be inside.
Animals Around the World: This program brings animals from all over the world for a fun, educational, and interactive presentation! This gives an overview of our animal ambassadors we have brought and an intro to their natural environment.
Animal Mythbusters: Can hedgehogs shoot their spines? Will cockroaches survive without their heads? Welcome to the ultimate animal myth-busting challenge! In this interactive, game-style program, learners will put their knowledge to the test with True or False trivia, uncovering surprising facts and busting common animal myths!
For Goodness Snakes: Some people fear snakes, but we often fear what we do not understand. Snakes look and move very differently from many other animals, but anything that is different can be amazing too. Learn how snakes act as important predators and help people in many ways we may not realize. What should you do if you see a snake? Come find out and meet some very sssssspecial ambassadors.
Wetland Detectives: Learn the importance of the wetlands to wildlife and all about what the wetlands provide for us. Students will be exploring biofacts, meeting a few native reptiles, and make a necklace that represents what wetlands are! (recommended for 4th - 12th grade) *not for assemblies
Wild Habitats: Discover the incredible adaptations of animals from deserts, forests, wetlands, and more in this hands-on wildlife education program! Meet live animal ambassadors while learning how they survive in their unique habitats and why protecting these ecosystems is so important.
Dig Into the Past - Learners will view fossils from all over the world & meet a few animals with prehistoric traits. They will learn about the geological time scale, the different methods of fossilization, the major fossil types, how the environment and other elements help fossils to form, and “dig” in my fossil sandbox for one fossil to keep. (recommended for Grades 3-12) *not for assemblies
Hop, Slither, Crawl: Young learners will look at the different ways animals move…some can walk on four legs, six legs, eight legs or no legs at all. After meeting the animal ambassadors, we’ll try our best to move like animals too! (Pre-K)
Animal Storytime: Listen to a story and meet the animal featured in the story plus a few of their friends! We have a selection of books the teacher picks from before the visit. This is a great way to gently introduce young learners to animals. (Pre-K)
Daycare General Visit: Have me out for 60 minutes and divide my time between your age groups.
