Our Scout programs are designed to help scouts complete requirements toward their badges and patches. If you aren’t working on anything but just want a bit of edutainment for your scouts we can do that too!

We come to your location.

FOR THE COMFORT AND SAFETY OF THE ANIMALS, LIVE ANIMAL programs MUST BE INDOORS IF TEMPERATURES ARE ABOVE 95 DEGREES OR BELOW 65 DEGREES

Scout programs are an hour long.

For scheduling reasons, we do not offer Scout programs during the summer (June - July).

Programs with ** have animals as part of the program.

Cub Scout Programs

  • Tiger Adventures. Explore your area and find living things, both big and small, or signs they were there. Scouts will examine what they find on a one foot hike with magnifying glasses to think really small. They will look to the sky to identify birds and down on the ground to identify plants. Covers Backyard Jungle #1, #2, #5 and Tigers in the Wild #4, #6 and #7.

  • Wolf Adventures**. Learn about animals, bugs and birds. Go on a one-mile hike and put your ID skills to the test. Learn how to reduce, reuse, and recycle to lessen our impact on the planet. Covers Call of the Wild #3, Council Fire #6A, Paws on the Path #6, & #7

  • Bear Adventures**. Go for a hike and look for signs of animals, birds and plants on this Required Adventure. Look for signs of wildlife outside. Do you know who’s endangered and why? Investigate the species that no longer live here and have a closer look at plants with a magnifying glass. Covers requirements #1 - #4 in Fur, Feathers, and Ferns.


Travel Fees:

No Travel Fee: St. Tammany, Orleans, Upper Jefferson, Tangipahoa, St. Bernard; and MS counties: Harrison, Pearl River, Hancock.

$30 travel fee for the following parishes/counties: Upper Plaquemines, St. Charles, St. John the Baptist, Livingston, Washington, Stone, Lamar, & Jackson County

$45 travel fee for: Ascension, East Baton Rouge parishes

Travel fees are paid in addition to program fees and are to offset additional vehicle costs.

 

All levels:

  • Wetland Detective**– Scouts will learn the importance of the wetlands and all that the wetlands provide for us. They will learn how to take action to save the wetlands and teach others their importance. Scouts will also meet some animals that call the wetlands home! Fulfills requirements for Brownies - WOW (Love & Save Water), Junior - Animal Habitat badge. *Fun patch available to purchase.

  • Guardians of the Rainforest** - Scouts will have fun learning about rainforests and what they can do to help save the endangered animals that live there. Fulfills requirements for Brownies: Senses Safari, Junior: Animal Habitats. Fun patch available for purchase.

  • Think Like A Citizen Scientist - Fulfills everything except the Take Action Project

  • Amazing Axolotls - Are your scouts wild about axolotls? Here is their chance to meet a couple of axolotl animal ambassadors that are in my collection! We will discuss all the fun facts about them and their wild counterparts, the perils they face, how to be a keeper to an axolotl if they want to have one as a pet one day, and why scientists are so interested in them. We will also make an axolotl necklace with a cute charm for the scouts to take home!

  • Webelos Adventures**. Learn about birds and flyways, and practice your bird watching skills. Play the food chain game, and think about different parts that humans play. Explore an ecosystems and talk about the importance of it for us and the organisms that call it home. Covers requirements #4—#8 from Into the Wild.
