Choose Your Adventure
Nature Hike (Grades K–5)
Grab your butterfly nets, binoculars, and magnifying glasses and hit the trails! Kids will sharpen observation skills while searching for Red-Tailed Hawks in the sky, spotting wildflowers, and hunting under logs for roly-polies and other tiny critters. Perfect for building curiosity and teamwork.
Bayou Study (Grades 4–12)
Ready to get your feet wet? Students investigate the health of a local bayou or pond by collecting and identifying macroinvertebrates (like insect larvae and snails) using nets, buckets, and simple data sheets. This program combines field science with real-world environmental awareness.
Bug Hunt (Grades 2–12)
Head into fields, meadows, or even the schoolyard to search for Louisiana’s incredible insects. Kids will humanely capture, observe, and identify bugs before releasing them back into their habitat. A favorite for budding entomologists!
