No-Cost Wildlife Education for Schools

We Bring the WILD to Your School!

What if your students could enjoy an exciting wildlife assembly without using your school's budget?

Nature on the Geaux offers qualifying schools an engaging Wildlife Education Assembly featuring live animal ambassadors, with no program fee paid by the school!

Through our optional Animal Ambassador Photo Experience, families help make these educational visits possible.

How Is This Program Funded?

Nature on the Geaux's No-Cost Wildlife Education Assembly is offered at no cost to qualifying schools or their students!

We make this possible by giving families the opportunity to purchase a keepsake photo with one of our live animal ambassadors. These optional photo purchases help cover the costs of animal care, travel, supplies, and providing our educational programs.

Families can choose from two photo options:

  • $5 — Digital Photo

  • $10 — Printed 4×6 Photo

All photos are taken during our school visit. Digital photos are delivered electronically, and printed photos are mailed to the school within 7–10 business days for distribution.

Photo purchases are completely optional! Every student enjoys the same educational assembly, regardless of whether their family purchases a photo.

To help us organize photo orders and permissions, a completed form is required for every participating student, including those who are not purchasing a photo.

  • Available to schools with 200 or more participating students.

  • Smaller schools may be considered depending on location and anticipated participation.

Program Length & Schedule

Wildlife Education Assembly: 45–60 minutes

Students enjoy one interactive, large-group wildlife presentation featuring live animal ambassadors, fascinating animal facts, adaptations, and conservation connections.

Animal Ambassador Photo Session: Time Varies

Following the assembly, students with photo orders will have the opportunity to take their keepsake photos with an animal ambassador.

Photo sessions are coordinated with school staff, with students brought through in smaller groups to keep things organized and minimize classroom disruptions.

Setup: Approximately 15-20 minutes

The assembly and photo session may take place in separate indoor spaces.

Total visit time will vary depending on the number of participating students and photo orders.

What Schools Provide

To host a No-Cost Wildlife Education Assembly, we typically just need:

  • An indoor assembly space, such as a gymnasium, auditorium, or cafeteria, large enough to accommodate participating students.

  • A designated photo area with enough room for students to take pictures with an animal ambassador. This can be a separate classroom or other indoor space and does not need to be in the same location as the assembly.

  • A small table or surface for our animal habitats and educational materials.

  • Seating or floor space where students can easily see the presentation.

  • Assistance distributing and collecting photo order/permission forms. A completed form is required for every participating student, even if no photo is purchased.

  • Help coordinating the photo session, including bringing students with photo orders through in smaller groups following the assembly.

  • Assistance distributing printed photos once they arrive at the school.

Setup takes approximately 30 minutes.

We'll work with school staff ahead of time to coordinate the assembly and photo schedule to keep everything running smoothly!
