Environmental Science Programs

We come to you with all the teaching supplies, and tools we need to facilitate a hands-on, engaging lesson about science or nature.  These programs are offered to one class at a time.

Minimum group size is 10, max group size is 20.

Owl Pellet Dissection Lab - What animals did your barn owl eat? Observe the bones it swallowed to identify its prey! Students will be able to analyze and interpret data they have collected from an owl pellet dissection to answer a question and also use a dichotomous key to identify bones of prey species found in an owl pellet. (4th-12th grade) Price $12 per participant

Pond Water Zoo - Your learners will be introduced to the world of protozoa and other microscopic organisms that can be found in the fresh water around us! Learners will dip water samples out of collected water, put it under a dissecting microscope, and discover there is a whole unseen world around them. (Grades 4-12) Price: $8 per participant

Water Quality - Are you ready to engage your students in the relationship between water quality and a healthy ecosystem? Learn how human impact affects the water quality indicators of dissolved oxygen, phosphates, nitrates, temperature, pH and turbidity. (6th-12th grade) Price: $12 per participant

Global Climate Change & Sea Level Rise: Do sea levels rise when ice melts? Does it matter whether the ice is on land or in the ocean? Students design an experiment to find out. They collect data, graph their results, and interpret their findings. Along the way, they learn about density, displacement, and climate change. (5th-8th grade) Price: $8 per participant

Eco-Engineers - People have changed the landscape that makes it easier for us to travel and live but how does that affect animals? In this class, we’ll explore what wildlife crossings are and come up with our own using the engineering design process to help Trevor, an African bullfrog, cross the highway safely. (Grades 3-8) Price: $8 per participant
